Music and embodied movement, I know it sounds cliche… but can support you mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually and energetically.
They can support you when you’re…
- Feeling triggered
- Working towards a goal
- Needing some inspiration
- Energy is stagnant
- Feeling alone
- Doing house chores.
- and so much more!
Music and movement releases feel good hormones too and is part of my everyday life so when something helps me on a soul level then I just need to share!
Music can help you to move through a lot of feelings and emotions and create the atmosphere you desire.
I in particular like medicine/shamanic music. It supports the mindset, energetic field, inner growth, soul and divine connection.
Together with the music can come the movement!
It’s important to move to how you feel and not worry about what it looks like. This is embodied movement.
In this modern world dance focuses on how it looks, not how it feels… and I’m guessing this is why many can only dance once they have had a few drinks!
So much emotion can get stuck in the body. Emotion stands for energy in motion. Stress and trauma get’s stuck in the body (not in the mind).
Throughout our lives if we just allowed ourselves to feel and move when we were triggered then the emotion/energy would of transmuted and we would not be doing most of the healing now!
So put on the music and sent an intention to feel and move.
There’s no wrong or right.
If you’re feeling low in energy, stressed, anxious, stagnant, self conscious, excited, love, blessed etc then you move to those feelings.
It will look different for everyone.
Then with movement you process your feelings and new feelings will arise.
I can’t stress enough that dance experience isn’t necessary.
I can’t really dance either… but I can move to how I’m feeling and sometimes that’s just weird!
If you would like to experience music and embodied movement in a community setting and/or other inner growth offerings; I hold regular ceremonies, shamanic journeys, retreats and 1:1 sessions which you can check out via the link below.
