My Story

I received my first Womb Hara Massage in 2021, the same year I began my Womb Awakening journey.

I felt called to heal trauma, connect more deeply with my womb spaceactivate my feminine essence of intuition, authenticity & truth speaking.

At that time in my life, I felt like I was going in circlesunclear & despairing about my purpose and I was experiencing low energy levels.

I believe the womb space is the energetic centre of creative life force in the body, holding the power to birth children, creative projects and ideas into the world.

The massage was beautiful and blissfulit was unlike any massage I had ever received.

I felt completely held and nurtured and I knew instantly that I had to share this experience with other women.

It wasn’t until I began my training that I realised I was offering a massage with a multitude of benefits, covering nearly the full spectrum of womanhood.

This makes my heart sing and sparks my soul because this is healing for humanity, our ancestors past, present & future & mother earth.

What is Womb Hara Massage?
This unique massage is a fusion of modalities including Chinese Nei Tsang Abdominal Massage, Fertility Massage, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, Shamanic Rebirth Ceremony & Energy Healing.

Womb Hara Massage is a blend of breathwork, ritual & external bodywork which focuses on slow and deep massage of the hara (Japanese for stomach & abdomen), womb space, diaphragm, back, sacrum & coccyx.

This massage will “stir the inner cauldron” clearing any stagnant energy & gently shifting the stories & emotions that reside within your organs, tissues and fascia, all on a cellular level.

You’ll experience 2+ hours of nurturing to release tension in the physical body and ground the nervous system, detoxify organs, open the diaphragm, foster deeper breathing, better digestion & reclaim lost parts of yourself due to stress or trauma.

Who is Womb Hara Massage for?

  • Loss of self identity
  • Postpartum recovery and honouring
  • Pregnancy loss / termination
  • Pelvic organ prolapse

  • Hysterectomy
  • Peri-menopause / menopause
  • Menstrual, mood imbalances and pain
  • Sciatic, sacroiliac and lower back pain
Who isn't Womb Hara Massage for?
This massage is unfortunately not for anyone who is pregnant, actively bleeding or has had recent surgery.

I recommend waiting three months after any major abdominal or pelvic surgery, as you’ll need time to heal.

A timeframe of 6 to 12 weeks may be possible depending on your recovery, but a clearance certificate or referral from your Doctor, Midwife or care provider is required if you’re in that 6 to 12-week range.

What about if I don’t like my stomach being touched or seen?
I’ve journeyed through this too, so we’re in this together and let’s change the stigma surrounding this!

This massage is even more important for you because if you dislike that part of yourself, imagine what old emotions are stored there!

How powerful it is to reconnect with a part of yourself that you once shut out—this is where all the magic lies!

Many women, myself included, have felt so much more comfortable and confident in their bodies after this massage.

And as a side note, it can reduce bloating!

I'm wanting to concieve; when is the best to have these?
If you’re on a fertility journey and want to conceive, then we would schedule one session a month after your bleed and leading up to ovulation (but not on ovulation day or after in case of conception).

We will continue consistently until you conceive or until implantation for IVF.

How long should I wait after childbirth?
If you’ve had a vaginal birth, I would recommend waiting until you have finished bleeding.

This massage is also very beneficial for you if you’ve had a caesarean birth.

I recommend waiting three months after any major abdominal or pelvic surgery, as you’ll need time to heal.

A timeframe of 6 to 12 weeks may be possible depending on your recovery and a certificate or referral from your Doctor, Midwife or care provider is required if you’re in that 6 to 12-week range.

You’ll also need to allow up to 3 hours for this massage.

How many sessions will I need?
This all depends on your intentions. Generally I recommend 3 – 6 sessions.

To create change, consistency is key and supporting yourself naturally isn’t usually a quick fix with just one session.

Please let me know your intentions and we can work on a plan that best suits you.

Is Womb Hara Massage internal?
Womb Hara Massage is an external massage and NOT internal.

It is not associated with Tantra or any form of sex work.

It is a holistic practice focused on promoting emotional and physical well-being.

Is this suitable for uterine prolapse?
First off, I have a prolapse, so know you’re not alone! Yes, it’s suitable and it’s important to let me know if this applies to you, as there is only one technique we can’t perform.

Other than that, this massage will support prolapse in several ways.

It will release tension in the fascia, surrounding musculature and ligaments.

I will perform what’s called a womb lift technique, which is also supportive for guiding the womb into optimal positioning.

I’ll work on opening the ribs and utilising breathwork, which is excellent for expanding and releasing the diaphragm.

This encourages a fuller, more natural breath, facilitating better oxygenation throughout the body and aiding effective intra-abdominal pressure.

Energetically, Womb Hara massage can help re-establish connection and awareness, especially since prolapse can be both physically and emotionally challenging.

I no longer have a physical womb; is it suitable?
Yes, of course. This is why I like to refer to the womb as the womb space, as “space” refers to the energetic aspect of your womb.

Even if you no longer have a physical womb, the energetic blueprint of your womb still exists, as it’s the energy that created your womb and energy can’t be destroyed.

This may also be a great opportunity to release the stuck emotions and grief that you may be holding onto from no longer having a physical womb.

Connecting with the energetic aspect of your womb can be really healing and awakening. You’re no less of a woman!

Is it ok if I have a womb but don’t identify as a woman?
These massages are still for you if you don’t identify as a woman but have a physical womb or no longer have a physical womb.

About Melissa Ayling

Hello, I’m Melissa and I’m a certified Integrative Womb Hara Massage Therapist.

In my teenage years, I often expressed my desire to become a masseuse.

However, life took its course and I found myself on a different path. Years later, my soul was realigned & now I’m offering this profound massage experience. Looking back, I can see why it was worth the journey.

From naturally curing my painful periods to grieving a heartbreaking miscarriage, from navigating overgiving in motherhood to reconnecting with my feminine essence after years of burnout.

My experience is a fusion of formal education, workshops & solo learning, but the greatest teacher has been my own healing journey.

I’ve got your back—and your front—in various aspects of womanhood.

From loss of identity to feminine disconnection, from fertility challenges to menstrual concerns, & from menopause support to postpartum honouring, plus more.

I aim to create a space where you feel nurtured & supported so you can surrender, drop into deep relaxation & allow your body to unwind it’s story.
