One of the most common reasons someone comes to me for Womb Hara Massage or Sekhem Healing (Egyptian Reiki) is to support their fertility journey as these offerings may be the missing piece!
There are many ways to support your fertility that you may already be familiar with, such as maintaining a balanced diet, staying hydrated, creating a low-toxicity home, tracking your menstrual cycle, reducing stress, ensuring adequate sleep, engaging in regular exercise (without overexerting yourself), avoiding smoking and limiting alcohol.
However, because women come to me to give their minds a rest from all the information out there, I thought I would outline some answers to questions I often receive during my sessions, so you can read at your convenience.
I’m staying within my scope of practice too therefore topics such as exercise, diet & naturopathy (plus more!) are not listed.
I don’t want to create or add to any stress, as that’s what women come to me to release! Take what resonates with you and leave the rest. There are no “have to’s.”
I would also like to mention that I do not write this post to imply that I ‘cure’ or ‘fix’. I’m here to ‘support’ your fertility journey and I understand that my offerings are complementary to and don’t replace any medical advice or treatment.

1. Just Relax… (Kidding!!!)
“You need to relax!” I understand it can be a triggering comment for someone on a fertility journey, especially if it has been a long and winding path.
Of course, you most likely know that you need to relax and I’m sure you’re doing everything possible to achieve that.
I do also acknowledge that there is substantial science behind the relationship between relaxation and fertility.
When faced with stress the body activates the fight-or-flight response which prepares it for perceived or actual threats in order to survive. This response prioritises survival over reproduction, redirecting blood, oxygen, nutrients and energy flow away from non-defensive bodily functions, including the uterus and reproductive organs.
Stress also affects the endocrine system which is responsible for hormone regulation and reproductive health.
Additionally stress can impact nutrient absorption. Therefore if you’re on a fertility diet or have invested in herbal supplements, they might not work effectively if you’re in a constant state of stress.
That said, I understand that many other factors may affect your ability to conceive beyond just relaxation.
However, if relaxation is what you need, this is where I can step in with Womb Hara Massage or an Egyptian Sekhem session (or both!).
I won’t tell you that you need to relax, as you already know that.
But I’ll provide the space to share, process and release together with the relaxation, love and support you need on this journey.

2. Womb Hara Massage
Womb Hara Massage is a fusion of modalities, including Chinese Nei Tsang Abdominal Massage, Fertility Massage, Womb Awakening, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi and Emotional Anatomy.
This unique massage is a blend of breathwork, ritual and external bodywork, focusing on slow and deep massage of the abdomen, womb space, diaphragm, back, sacrum and coccyx.
It’s a magical experience lasting 2.5 hours, culminating in a Shamanic Rebirth Ceremony and Energy Healing.
From a fertility perspective, the massage aims to potentially release any tension, energetic blockages and inflammation in the womb space, increase blood and energy flow to the reproductive organs, balance hormones and support fertility and menstrual health.
I recommend one Womb Hara Massage during the window between post-bleed and before ovulation; however, this massage should not be received during or after ovulation if you’re wanting to conceive or during your bleed. If you want to relax during these times, I would recommend Reiki sessions instead.
If you’re on an IUI or IVF journey, the same applies: I recommend regular massages up until the transfer, followed by Reiki afterward.

3. Sekhem Healing (Egyptian Reiki)
Sekhem Healing (Egyptian Reiki) channels vital life force energy. “Sekhem” means universal life force energy in ancient Egyptian, while “Reiki” means universal life force energy in Japanese.
The difference between the two lies in where the energy is channelled from. Sekhem is aligned with the energy of Egyptian Goddess Sekhmet, the cosmic force of healing, protection and strength and this is what I tap into, channel and transmit to my clients.
Sekhem supports fertility by releasing the physical and emotional blocks that potentially hinder conception. It also helps ease feelings of overwhelm that may arise when the journey becomes challenging for some.
By shifting stuck energy within the body, Sekhem promotes a state of deep relaxation, which is particularly beneficial during phases such as pre-ovulation, during ovulation and post-ovulation.
During these times, the body is preparing for potential conception and the calming effects of Sekhem can help reduce stress and anxiety, allowing for optimal hormonal balance and reproductive function.
This gentle energy work can potentially improve blood and energy flow to the reproductive organs, enhance emotional health and create a nurturing environment within the mind, body and soul.

4. Call In the Soul of Your Baby
If you’re open to it, calling in the soul of your unborn child can be a beautiful experience.
It adds another layer of love to your relationships; you now have a companion by your side, a connection to someone special with whom you can share whispers of dreams and hopes, as well as navigate challenging times together.
Time and practice may be needed before you feel this connection and it might come at a moment when you least expect it—such as in the shower, in your dreams or out in nature.
If you’re worried that you might not be someone who can connect with something like this, just know that from experience, souls preparing to enter the earthly plane are often very fun, ambitious and free, making them easier to connect with than souls that have left this earthly realm.
You can approach this connection in a way that feels right for you, such as lighting a candle, or I can guide you through it during a Womb Hara massage session. There’s a specific area on the body that I work with to facilitate this ceremony and connection.

5. Warmth & Circulation
Prioritising warmth and circulation can be a key factor in supporting overall reproductive health and fertility. Poor circulation can lead to stagnation in the womb.
Coconut oil is a great analogy for warmth and circulation in our bodies. It solidifies when cold but becomes fluid when warm.
Just as warmth allows coconut oil to flow freely, warmth in your body improves circulation, bringing blood, oxygen and nutrients to the womb space to flow freely.
Cold hands and feet often indicate poor circulation, so it’s important to keep them warm!
Gentle exercise, warm heat pads, herbal teas such as ginger or raspberry leaf tea, Womb Hara massage, Reiki and staying hydrated also contribute to improved circulation.
In Womb Hara Massage, I guide women through a practice that connects both heart and womb space together in sacred union. The heart is the organ responsible for circulation in the body.

6. Moxibustion
Moxibustion is over 5,000 years old and originates from East Asia, including Polynesia and Europe. It is a traditional medicine technique that involves the burning of mugwort, an herb known as moxa, near acupuncture points on the body.
When it comes to fertility support, moxibustion can be particularly beneficial as it helps to warm the uterus, potentially regulate menstrual cycles and improve blood flow to the reproductive organs.
This method harnesses the warming properties of moxa to stimulate circulation and enhance the flow of Qi (energy), which potentially improves balance, vitality and healing.
By addressing underlying imbalances and promoting a more conducive environment for conception, moxibustion may support both natural fertility and those undergoing medically assisted fertility.
Moxibustion is exclusive to Womb Hara massage however is optional. I place lady mugwort on top of a fresh slice of ginger (which also has warming properties) and apply it to the energy point that connects directly to your uterus.

7. Conscious Menstrual Practice
Just like Mother Earth has her seasons throughout the year, you have your own seasons throughout the month—an inner winter (menstruation), inner spring (follicular phase), inner summer (ovulation) and inner autumn (luteal).
Your inner rhythms and energy levels change throughout the month; you’re not flat line.
Your menstrual cycle can become your superpower when you listen to and are guided by the nature of your body rather than going against it.
Consciously tracking your menstrual cycle can support fertility and potentially reduce PMS and alleviate painful, heavy periods.
Understanding when ovulation occurs is beneficial for those trying to conceive, as this marks your fertile window.
A common way to tell is through your cervical fluid, which becomes clear and stretchy around ovulation, similar to egg whites. However, not all women experience this.
I’ve created a journal post to help you better understand your inner seasons and menstrual cycle, including ovulation, which you can read HERE!

8. Castor Oil
Castor oil is a natural remedy that dates back to ancient Egypt and Castor oil packs are available as support for fertility.
These packs usually consist of cotton pads that you soak in cold-pressed castor oil, before applying them to the abdomen. They are often covered with a heat pack to retain warmth and an organic cotton waist wrap to keep secure.
The warmth helps to improve blood circulation, reduce inflammation and promote relaxation, which can be beneficial for the reproductive organs.
The application of castor oil packs can potentially aid in detoxification and may support ovarian function, potentially improving egg quality.
When on a fertility journey you can use castor oil packs after your moon bleed and up until just before ovulation. Don’t use them during menstruation, ovulation, post-ovulation or if experiencing diarrhoea.

9. Goddess Hathor
If you’re open to it, connecting with the Egyptian goddess Hathor, the cosmic force of fertility, motherhood, love, music and dance, can be a spiritual practice for those seeking to support their fertility journey.
Hathor is often associated with joy, celebration and nurturing, embodying the qualities of femininity and abundance.
Engaging with her energy through meditation, rituals or offerings can create a sacred space for intention-setting and manifesting.
Before I begin my sessions, I open up space and call in the energy and presence of Goddess Hathor to support the session.
I also call upon Hathor’s blessing when I facilitate the calling of the unborn child’s soul in the Womb Hara massage.
I also have an Egyptian Hathor sistrum (rattle) that I use in my sessions, so my clients benefit from the sound healing and receive her codes, consciousness, and transmissions to awaken Hathor’s qualities within themselves.
